Developmental Editing

This is the big one: I’ll read your manuscript and provide twelve to fifteen pages of detailed feedback, covering plot, character, style, dialogue, structure, and the general appeal of the manuscript. Along with this I’ll make margin notes and provide some sample line editing (always visible, with the reasoning behind the changes always explained). I’ll cover what works, what doesn’t, and offer specific suggestions for improvement.

37,501 – 50,000 words: $950

25,001 – 37,500 words: $800

12,501 – 25,000 words: $650

6,251 – 12,500 words: $500

Line Editing

For this, I charge on a sliding scale, $0.03 to $0.07 per word, depending on the state of the manuscript at the time I begin. I only offer line editing for clients with whom I have already worked on a developmental edit.

Query Letter + Synopsis

Flat fee of $150, plus my hourly rate. I only offer this service for clients with whom I have already worked on a developmental edit.

Hourly Consultation
For this, I charge $80; this is meant as a supplement for clients who have already been through the developmental process, and simply desire ongoing assistance in a more casual format.
