So, it’s a day late, but I can’t think of anything more appropriate for Veteran’s Day than the theme song from Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty.

Metal Gear is the most pro-soldier, anti-war, anti-nuclear, and unexpectedly feminist game series I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It’s not going too far to say these games–particularly the first and fourth–changed my life, by deepening my understanding of war and the effect it has, not just on those who fight, but on the civilian population that inevitably gets caught in it.
